Moment 2

He looked away.
And shook his head whilest the tiny smile that had crept up on his face died.
"You know, respecting that you can and should only control your own choices,
it's only scary if you don't trust others not to use their freedom against you."
After a while he dared to look into her eyes and finally she understood.

They had reached the point of catatonic exhaustion.
"I know" she replied.
And spared him from knowing that it was not the fear of unknown attacks,
it was the despair of realizing what he already had chosen that had moved her.

So she left her heart there,
shivering with fear and anticipation.
Put up the most kind and sincere smile she could master,
and allowed the soothing pain to wash over her.

Finally she was letting go.
